Position Summary:
The Project Manager / Expeditor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of aftermarket parts programs, including aircraft, airframe, and other large asset acquisition projects. This role serves as the critical link between implementation functional teams and internal stakeholders — ensuring on-time delivery to storefront, cost control, and quality compliance across all program commitments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and brings deep knowledge of aviation supply chain dynamics.
This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong execution discipline, technical acumen, and the ability to drive outcomes across competing priorities and stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Oversight
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects from initiation through storefront, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
- For each acquired asset, develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestone trackers, critical paths, and status reports for internal leadership and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with logistics, repairs administration, contracts, technical services, and teardown vendors to schedule and execute disassembly and shipments to repairs or Stratus warehouses.
- Identify project risks early and implement proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to the program.
Expediting & Supply Chain Coordination
- Actively expedite parts and assets through repair, overhaul, and distribution channels to meet program commitments.
- Monitor and track purchase orders, repair orders, and loan/exchange transactions across the supply chain.
- Track and expedite material flow from teardown through inspection, repair, and certification; provide progress reporting and escalation when necessary.
- Maintain real-time visibility into program status and communicate proactively with internal leadership regarding schedules and delays.
- Ensure immediate kickoff of post-close activities, minimizing idle time between acquisition and listing.
- Partner with logistics and freight teams to optimize routing, prioritize shipments, and manage customs/export compliance.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in material processing to ensure timely progression of acquired material to saleable condition.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned programs, providing timely and transparent project updates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal leadership, staff, and MRO partners.
- Address and resolve required escalations with urgency and professionalism, coordinating across internal teams to deliver solutions.
Financial & Contract Oversight
- Track project costs, performance to schedule, and other KPIs as determined by leadership; work with finance to reconcile the data.
- Work with internal finance and inventory analysts to document performance and inform business case development for future acquisitions.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in aviation aftermarket, MRO, parts distribution, or aviation supply chain management.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Working knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements including FAA FAR Part 145, Part 121, and airworthiness documentation standards.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRO systems such as Quantum or similar platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface effectively with customers, vendors, and executive leadership.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Preferred: Experience supporting commercial airline, regional, cargo, or business aviation operators.
- Preferred: Familiarity with AOG desk operations and critical parts expediting.
- Preferred: PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
- Preferred: Experience with international logistics, customs, and export compliance (EAR/ITAR).
