ENGINE SHOP - TECHNICIAN

leadership role in keeping our Saab 340 fleet flying safely and reliably.


We're seeking an experienced and motivated Engine Workshop Technician to lead our
Engine Shop and Wheel Bay teams at our Wagga Wagga base. This is a full-time position.


This hands-on supervisory position offers the opportunity to manage skilled technicians,
optimize workshop operations, and contribute directly to aircraft component reliability and on time
performance.


Reporting:
This position reports to the Base Maintenance Supervisor.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Experience in GE CT7 series engine repair and overhaul in an engine MRO or airline operator environment.
  • Have held or, based on experience, are able to obtain an MRO company authority to certify for GE CT7 engine maintenance.
    • Experience in engine module replacement.
    • Experienced in Engine LRU component replacement.
    • Experienced in compressor blade clip.
  • Able to work in a small team and train new engineering technical staff.
  • Able to work day shifts Mon-Fri plus some overtime.
  • Able to travel domestically for periods of 2-3 days to carry out our engineering work in other engineering locations.
  • Able to obtain an airport security pass.
  • Location: Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia.
  • Able to obtain an Australian Visa work permit.

Essential Selection Criteria:
- At least 5 years' hands-on experience in gas turbine engine workshop environments
(repair, overhaul, testing).
- Proven mechanical aptitude and technical expertise in aircraft component
maintenance.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance/engineering
setting, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple
projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Sound working knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. maintenance tracking systems, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
- High level of visual acuity (including colour vision where required for inspections).
- Willingness to relocate to Wagga Wagga, NSW (regional lifestyle benefits include

Preferred Selection Criteria:
- 2+ years' specific experience with GE CT7 or T700 series engines.
